To lessen the power drain
To lessen the power drain you coudl light each LED for a short period of time and measure the distance with each LED and take the smallest value. That way you only have to light 1 LED up at a time and you can let it shine at MAX. I would think 6 LEDs at once would be a bit of a power drain.
TWMS
Thats what Majones said. Use 1 LED at a time to determine the general direction the obstacle is at.
The LED I used worked OK and allmost 40cm range will do in a lot of applications. Still; the LED in my TV Remote shines about 10 times as bright. You can tell by looking at the LED through a digital camera.
Aparently there is a dead
Aparently there is a dead limit on the 30-40 cm range. No mater what light is used. It’s a wall!
Its really frustrating.
Its really frustrating. Especially since the invisible IR-wall doesn’t apply to my TV remote.
However, that doesn’t depend
However, that doesn’t depend on reflections…
Majones & OddBot:Good
Good findings & Results! Please dump us as much simple / low tech info as posible… When I hooked up lots of LED’s, they where not very rational; some shine more than other. I do not dare thinking on how bad it would be with IR when I cannot see what’s going on!
I’d really whish all was in visible light, but I gues you ell me that IR is beter? (Even when it is not modulated?)
when i measure the voltage
when i measure the voltage drop in the photoresistor its only .7v is this acceptable? anyone? (Oddbot ahheeemmmmm) =)
I’ve got some spare LDR’s
Must put this on my list of things to do. It’s growing daily. Will I live long enough…?
Digital input
Is there a way to use this on a digital input ie when it gets above a certain level because i would like to use 4 of them and a sharp ir sensor. I am using the picaxe 25 project board with 4 anologue inputs
What???
How does this work? No pull-up resistors i think?
We need an Analog SumoBot
Can I use this circuit for detecting opponent and charge onto it for my SumoBot? *We need to build an analog sumobot without microcontrollers.
