Sounds like you need a distance sensor; infrared or ultrasonic. If the sensor is really small, then infrared or laser (expensive).
hey can anyone tell me what censor i can use to find out distance between those censors…
for instance, i m going to use 3 sensor… A B C and i want the exact distnace between them and send it to something like central hub … motherboard or something…

Thesis Project- There are cabinetes/ boxes said- Universal contacting modules.
The two marks are on the mudole and inside it. I need to find the exact position of these two marks so as to localize the Motomann to these points if interests.
Which sensor is applicable and cheaper and easy in realization ?
“Thesis” = master’s thesis? Creating a functional solar powered lawn mower is quite an undertaking. 1) create a very lightweight, custom mobile platform; 2WD and 2 casters 2) Add sensors to avoid obstacles and stay within a boundary 3) add a solar panel either directly on the robot, or on a docking station 4) add a motor and blades to cut the grass.

I need to use an appropriate sensor for the distance measurement , to develop the control algorithm which makes two robots follow each other at the certain distance, at moment, ultrasonic sensor does not work properly. Putting a surface in front of the sensor doesn’t show any significant changes in distance measurement ( I have tried black and White A4 papers. Which sensor do you think I can apply in term of accuracy and cost?
