can i use L293 motor driver?

It uses the two motors to roll around, and when one of the sensors is pressed, that motor stopped, causing it to turn.

There are no “requirements” - many builders learn by doing and not necessarily through formal education. Don’t be scared to start.
It does not actually “identify” obstacles - when it contacts an object, the current is cut to that motor, causing the robot to turn.
Is there any particular information you are looking for? The Robotics field covers a LOT of topics, so we need to pick and choose the topics we find are of greatest use and interest to the most people.
