How much does your SES Robot weight

I’ve seen much better photo’s out there but I’m more into robots than camera’s…

The wire covering is corrugated plastic ( automotive supply )

those photos look good. as does the hex. 8)

A little home secret… i sometimes take photos in my bath!! gives a very nice white background. and using a simple Brightness/contrast i can get the background even whiter.

High key, no? But you loose a little detail in the highlights, and a foot! ;>)

I like the 'bot!

That’s a pretty good idea except my tub is ivory but still it would work.

Talking about taking photos…

I’m using a rather “old” Olympus E-500 dSLR camera (now replaced with an E-30) for all pictures with a 50 mm macro lens and using two old manual flashes (OM T-32), a white umbrella with one of the flash, background using a white roller-curtain (is that the right word http://hexapodrobot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif ), a reflector on the other side and shooting the other flash up to the ceiling.

This an old picture of my photo-setup:

This is not a very expensive equipment. I bought the T32 flash on ebay for about 50 $ each.

show off. nothing wrong with the tub my friend. lol

yes Alan in that particular photo the clarity is poor but i have had some really nice results.

Zenta:

That’s a good setup but you look like you have some room…I’m stuck in a 10 by 10 room and with me and my collection of robots ( toys ) it doesn’t leave much room for building home built bots let alone setting up someplace to take pictures.

This by the way is not a complaint just a point of fact…my wife runs a tight ship around here…I’m a kid at heart but I’m also 56 years old on Saturday so I get a lot of static sometimes about having around 150 robot toys :unamused:

Hi Jonny,

Hadn’t thought about a tub!

Kåre has a nice setup!

I’ll have to see if I can find my old photo umbrellas. I have flash equipment as well, but I have no simple way to trip them with my old Nikon 880. Trouble is, it “flashes twice”, (first to get range or something), and then a second flash. So my gear gets triggered too soon.

I don’t have a roll-up background anymore, I’ll have to try to find one.

Now if it’s 60mm x 60mm you want…

Alan KM6VV

Ahhh…!

That is some impresive robot…!

I’m not done with it yet I’m playing with the code for autonomous operation which it partly is now and I have yet to add my camera for vision system. What’s is sweet is that with the two X-Bee’s I can let the ABB run the robot from X-Bee 1 to X-Bee 2 on the SSC32 and can also send serial commands to the SSC from X-bee 3 on the PC to X-Bee 2, the X-Bee’s handle all the routing right out of the box.

LOL, And yet another great idea from jonny. I like the way you always manage to think “out of the box”! I’m definitely gonna try this some day! 8)

Just remember to remove the rubber duck first.

Would a hot tub or spa work? ;>)

Alan KM6VV

For the SPA… remove the water first… :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I knew I forgot something !

hrmm
this thread has taken aa slow but steady turn to something other than what the headline say … but it is still intresting

I’ve noticed that also but…while everyone talks about whatever …Please weigh in.
