We just added the BRAT to the website! They can now be purchased! I just checked and I think we set a record. This project took only 24 days from conception (when I built the prototype) to the complete kit!
We will be adding other versions and options as well. Enjoy!
thats fantastic. Jim, Lynxmotions just keeps getting better and better!
These things should sell like hot cakes.
In a price comparison with the Parallax Toddler, the B.R.A.T. definitely has more bang for the buck. And the best part is the SES brackets that are used, can be reused or customized by adding other SES brackets to the existing B.R.A.T. assembly.
The flexibility of the SES is amazing.
i plan on getting it tomorrow, if they arnāt sold out already
I WANT ONE SOOO BAD, BUT IM STILL WORKING ON ANOTHER PROJECT. MAYBE IāLL BUY IT FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND PLAY AROUND WITH IT WHEH I HAVE THE TIME.
hello Nick,
Looks like you have experience with the Wiport thingy. Can you tell me if itās possible to get video from the bot back to the PC on the same connection? I think the V3 board has a USB port, so a USB based camera can probably plug into it, eh? I just think it would be so cool to have a program that would control the bots action using canned routines and have a window to see what the robot sees. Could be fun.
I think its possible if you use a usb webcam. As long as there is a usb port on the wiport (as you said) it should be fine, though distance of operation would be limited to the wiports antenna.
dont quote me on this, its all just theory.
Sorry, Jim.
Iāve ditched the WiPort that I had been using because I managed to fry one of the two ports.
So, my knowledge about it is extremely limited.
However, you can try pming dgarske on these forums, as heās the guy behind Wibotics.
hey everyone, im ordering the BRAT as we speak, but before i do the final thing, can i order only 2 servos? i already have 4 that i am going to put into use 8)
Jimās usual answer to that sort of thing is āspecify it in the comments box when you orderā.
I think itās safe to go ahead and do that.
ok, thanks nick
i just thought of something, will the money for the servos be subtracted from the final total? because im tight on money and i need that money for the 4 servos subtracted
It should. dosnāt make sense if it didnāt. Hopefully jim will be around to anwser.
By all means, feel free to wait until Jim answers.
Itās your money thatād go down the drain if Iām wrong, after all.
Jim, calling jim, clean up on aisle 3
On your Wiport BRAT you appear to have used nuts and bolts hardware to fasten the servos to their brackets rather than th push pins. This differs from your assembly guide. Any particular reason for doing that or
Re: the Wiport bracket, any chance you can post a .pdf or something of that that can be printed to scale, traced to some material (probably 1/8" microlite plywood for me), and cut out on a bandsaw? Wonāt look as good as your laser cut stuff but itād pass until you got something up on the site to buy.
there already up bud. Just check the biped zone on lynxmotions and youāll see that there in stock. Better buy em before they sell. I hear there goin like hotcakes!!
I think he didnāt read your post and/or is smoking something
EddieB You getting a Wiport or have one?
EDIT: Found out they are back ordered until the 31. So I have time to get my spider built before it gets here.
