oops srry.
this is the correct URL:
I been playing around with my little brat biped.
When I load the programs like Stand From back in. It is looking like one side is going backwards.
Is it in odd positions for other sequences?
If so, you might have improperly oriented the servo horns.
well with seting thing all at 1.5 in the SEQ program his horns have been adjusted.
here is my 1st video of the mess
But, have you tried any sequences other than the standup?
If those don’t work, too, then it’s probably one of two things:
You don’t have the servos oriented the way that whoever made the program did (notice I didn’t say “the right way”).
You have the wrong joints plugged into the wrong channels.
ya, from the video, it looks like you oriented the servos wrong. This is what happened with my pan and tilt. If your using a program on your computer to operate the brat (which you are) there sould be a way to fix this on there some how. but dont quoute me on that.
Yeah,
walk , Long step walk, Both version of stand up, side to side…
all have the same issue.
I thought that as well. and looking at the legs, I can’t see any other way with out major changes, and having things look differently than Robot Dudes Kids. It would be easyer for me to just re-do the programs now that I have the SEQ program.
Yes i did noticed you didn’t say the right way… As I am sure I did it the same way as Robo Dude … What I need to do is get the pic and work log of this writen up. This weekend is very busy and I was hoping to have it done before now.
I am using the same channels as what was in program (I only had to switch a couple from the way I set it up)
Ok I have mine standing up on its own now. I will get my video later as I screwed up the program trying to make it fancier, But I did save the working version off 1st.
I also picked up the rest of the servo’s I needed for the spider legs (3 & 4). So I will need to make a choice here soon. Keep my Brat aka Bart or take him apart and start working on the programming for the spider, since I will be able to work on 4 legs.
A minor note:
I’m willing to bet that whoever made the program designed their biped so that it had the absolute maximum range of motion in each servo.
As you can imagine, that would mean that not all joints will have 1500 as their straight position.
If you’ve reworked the code, and you’re satisfied with the range of motion of each servo, then go for it!
Just make sure that you indeed have the range of motion that you want before you start making gaits (I made that mistake ).
Remember, most servos can’t be told to move as far as they can physically move, so it’s best to test the range of each joint with the SEQ.
Can’t wait to see how your PIC works out.
OMG!!!
will it come back in stock soon?? its aswome!
i was wondering, the brat kit for pc comes with the SSC-32 Sequencer. can it realy change all the commandes you’ve given into a basic language to use with the ABB and a basic atom/pro?
they also say that the SSC-32 Sequencer is only compatible with the SSC-32 Servo Controller, is a newer version of a servo controller coming out soon? or should i just buy the pc combo kit? (well when it comes back in stock)
How is it expandeble, what can we add?
one last thing: its made of the servo erector set only right? (exept the servos an electronics of cours) so I can unassemble it and construct an other robot with it if I want to?
oh and, lol, does it come with spare nuts and bolt (if thats what tes SES uses…)? in case we loose them
Sam, again so aswome!!! cant wait!!!
1 yes
2. why would u want another servo controller? it can handle 32 servos and has a few preprogtrammed gaits?
3.dunno
4. yes
to answer to hydros “dunno” its is as expandable as you imaggination makes it, unless the servos your have cant handle it atleast, remember its the servo erector set, its pretty expandable
hope this helps
It is possible some folks may not be familliar with “the” erector set depending on where they live and what was important as they grew up. At the same time there are others who probably remember the erector set coming in a metal box.
thanks
I think the question about spare bolts got missed.
To answer it:
I’m sure that it comes with spares.
Jim is rather lavish with heaping extra nuts, bolts, and even a bearing here or there in his packaging.
I’ve already filled a small jar with spare bolts and nuts, and I’ve only bought 2 bipeds.
spare parts … They are nice to have when you mess up the dead on one of the screws. It is always nice to have spares for those just in case times.
I should have the video up later tonight. I been working on some of the others programs to try and get a few videos up at once … but wedding and family b-days keep getting in the way this weekend.
the JR sport servos I am using on the ankles might have to go, as I am getting a lot of wobble (lack of better term) with them. I did get another 4 645 and 2 475 for the hexapod.
Will the BRAT combo for PC come back in stock soon?
can I change the BRAT (like next summer when I want to continue my robot projects) to 5 DOF legs and add a torso and arms?
thx :D:D:D
i dont think it was ever up on the site, or they haven’t put the kits together yet, so for now you have to select all the parts individually off the site, it stinks, i no
ok lol thanks
Ok I got some more video’s of my bot in action … still not running races.
