Home made mercury gyroscope

i made this for fun.it was designed for 6axis & gravity detection.
the mercury switch is not perfect,i have to do some anti jitter work.

It makes me remember the time when I accidentally broke our mercury thermostat and my dad got so angry at me… At least I was able to pick up the mercury before long. My parents then told me how dangerous it is to have mercury lying about in your house…

dont pick it up with your bare skin! its highly toxic!!

This is pretty cool, a common misconception with mercury is that it is toxic. It is, however only the vapors and the nitrates that form when they react with air. The metal itself is pretty safe, but can react with air, etc.

for the anti-jitters, can you use some capacitors to smooth out the signals?

or, if this is going into a robot, I suppose your code could average the last 3 or 5 samples to smooth out the signals also.

i am trying

hardware anti-jetters with CD40106.
