Hollow shaft motors

Hi,

I am looking for a hollow shaft motor with ~1000 rpm and low noise. I just saw GL40 KV210, with rpm ~2200. This should still be ok for our purpose. I want to install a 1-inch lens on one side of the hollow shaft and let laser light pass enter the shaft from the other end. The idea is to rotate the optics at high speed. Will GL40 KV210 serve the purpose? If you have any other suggestions, kindly let me know. Note that the minimum aperture diameter we need is ~ 10 mm.

Thanks,
Avinash

@avinashkumar Welcome to the RobotShop Community. Note that if the load is offset, that will cause the motor to wobble, Ideally you need to distribute weight around the motor evenly, so in your case, you should add a “dead weight” on the opposite side of the lens and at the same distance so it doesn’t wobble. Note too that you can reduce the RPM of a motor using a motor controller. For the motor you proposed, that would mean a BLDC motor controller.
