I believe the 2 function version is the same as the 4 function version I have. One of the big differences between the Hitec ones, is I believe you can choose to have the joysticks self center or not. i.e. you can use one as something like a throttle or a Y position of your robot. If I remember correctly with the Hitec ones you can do those for both directions… With the servocity ones, they are always self centering…

I don’t have any of the Hitec Aurora versions to know how well they work and I have not done enough with the servocity ones, but my initial reaction is they are not as accurate as my old Hitec-4 ones when it comes releasing the joystick and coming back to the same center point. i.e. may need more dead band. But I am not sure of this yet. Will know more when I finish my current DIY remote.

I haven’t used the servo city ones, but the Hitec ones are top notch. These gimbals feature high sensitivity, 8 ball-bearings, and adjustable tension. You can enable or disable self centering on both axis and enable ratcheting on the Z axis. They are used in the Hitec Aurora 9 radio which is their top of the line radio. The return to center is extremely accurate.
