Thanks for the URLs, I had looked for them before. The battery is a little big for my “Little Cat”, but hopefully the smaller turnigy batteries will have similar connectors.

I currently have two 7.2 NiMh batteries that I can tuck into my 'bot chassis. OK for starters, until I figure out my current draws more accurately, and get some Lipo batteries to try out (and the charger, cables, etc).

Maybe the fact that you select the battery technology AND know the terminal voltage; that’s probably enough info! No wait, that’s the charger that you can probably select the battery technology on…

Hi Alan and Eddie,

I think you’re pretty right about the cutoff voltage for the Lipo. Good point! Didn’t thought of that since I’m using it for a Lipo. The number of cells can be determent by measuring the voltage indeed. The balance leeds are only used to balance the voltage between the cells when charging in a special program. The charger works in the same way, it measures the voltage and shows the number of cells even without having the balance wires connected.

So no idea how this BEC will work with a NiMh battery connected.

About the balance cables; the balance connectors are not universal. There are some brands that use different connectors. Check the small plug in those 2 batteries.

There are (Lipo) batterypacks in all sizes and types. So there should be a right one for the your “Little Cat” to.

I have found a battery size that I can fit a pair of (side by side) into “Little Cat”. I have also discovered that I have room to stack batteries under the SSC-32 if I want (1.25").
