Geoffrey the Robot

Geoffrey the robot inspired by the Theo Jansen walker mechanism.

This crankshaft is made out of acrylic rods, spring rc motor (continous)- to control the legs, one micro servo to control the head, arduino uno, 4 AA batteries to power the servo, 1x9 volts batteries to power the Arduino, ping ultrasonic sensor, acrylic sheet lasercut (using ProWeld to glue it all together)

This is unfinished and still under development and it's suppose to avoid people :)

Here's the development blog of Geoffrey and shows the start of learning electronics.

  • Sensors / input devices: Ping Ultrasonic Sensor

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://community.robotshop.com/robots/show/geoffrey-the-robot

this may be a stupid question…

but I’ll ask it anyway. Can he turn? Using differential steering…? I saw him wobbling back and forth a bit but I’m still not sure.

Jansen rules!

Jansen’s walkers are just beautiful and elevated. Love them.
