Dr Octopus's Phoenix Hexapod

If Dr Octopus had a Hexabot I would say it would look something like this!

Basically it is a Phoenix Hexabot with the HSR5990TG servos on the body.
Running a 5000mA LiPo and a Turnigy UBEC-15A.
All the electronics are inside the body.

I’m using springs as a cable managment system. Allows full movement and a neat way of not cutting or pulling the servo cords.

I still have to Vacuum form a black body cover for it yet!

This is the test case, the second build is right behind this one and then another four I’m told.

Sorry about the pics. I’ll do some betters ones in the next few days.

i like the way they feed into the body and all run the same way. looks neat.
interested to see the Shell you have in mind. 8)

Hi,

nice cable managment.

An short hint to the UBEC:
One UBEC with a max of 15 A is a little bit too small. I have measured some peaks with about 20 A at my hexabot with 12x 5980SG and 6x 645MG.

Greetings
Daniel

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I Have a spare U-BEC just in case.

I’ll try and do the body tomorrow.

Pretty cooo. The tubes make it kinda look like it’s hydraulic or pneumatic.

Very nice work!

Huh??? No Linux here.

Just the a Bot Board II brain, a SSC-32 servo board, a LiPo battery and a UBEC (Ultimate Battery Eliminator Circuit).

But yes it would be cool to have a Linux Brain.

Rod.

:open_mouth: Who said anything about linux? :open_mouth:
Are you messing everything up Dale?

Nice build! bones!

I guess I am guilty of over dreaming again… I don’t know where I got the idea bones was using Linux on the bot.

8-Dale

Haha. No worries!
Must of been another thread.
