Hello,
I am looking for a DC Motor that is equipped with a brake, or a shaft blocking system. The brake shall be open when the motor is activated, and should be braking when the motor is not activated. Basically, the motor cannot turn when there is a torque applied on the shaft by the application. Only the motor can activate the application when it is energized. The brake must be either full stop or fully open. It is for blocking the shaft. Not for a resistive torque and nor to gradually slow the application.
I know that worm gears gearboxes have this effect. Due to friction, it is very difficult to turn the motor from the output shaft. However, the reduction ratios are too high and the efficiency is low due to friction.
Any suggestions?
It can be magnetic, electric or mechanical shaft blocking system. As long as it is high efficiency (full stop and low energy consumption).
Thanks for your help.
