D80 "on" switch issue - not charging properly

Hi I have a Neato BotVac D80. Every time I go to use it I get a message telling me to open it up and move the switch to the “on” position.
Of course the switch is in the “on” position already. I usually have to move the switch between on and off several times before the message goes away.
Then when I go to start the robot to clean it tells me my battery needs charging. I then have to move the robot out of the charger and position it back several times into the charge before it charges.
After it charges it usually starts and cleans OK. Usually once the battery gets low it works OK if I take it back to the charger and re-charge the same day ( at least within an hour or so). Once finished I return the vacuum back to the charger, but when I go to use it again several days later I get the “switch is not on issue” again
and the battery is dead even though it is sitting properly in the docking station. I tried resetting the machine by doing the “new battery cycle”, but that does not help. I purchased the robot in April 2016 with a 5 year warranty. What do I need to do to solve this issue?

@artpro

Hi,

Have you replaced the battery since the purchase of the robot?

This issue is caused by a battery that has reached its end of life and should be replaced.

If you haven’t, simply replacing the battery should fix this issue.

You can find one here: robotshop.com/en/neato-botva … ttery.html
*Note that the battery is not covered by the 5-year warranty.

check the charging cables and batteries of your robot, maybe due to poor cable you are not able to charge your robot properly, one more scenario could be that battery life is ended.
