I picked up a junked dustbuster about 2 weeks ago. Most of it was cactus but I saved the impellor, fitted a new 6v mabuchi 380 sized motor to it and mounted it all in the plastic shroud from a PC case fan. Currently I`m also working on the chassis. I decided to go for a rectangular design. Hopefully I can get a post up some day soon.

The new 260 motor with the mushroom impellor probably works as well as the slot car 130 motor with the Magic Bug impellor. The mushroom impellor has a smaller diameter but is taller. It doesn’t seem to work quite as well as the Bug version. The improved torque and higher RPMs on the new 260 brings it to about equal.
All in all, I’d say you’d still be disappointed :) However a good 380 and genuine dustbuster bits should get you there I’m guessing. Update when you can!
