Just more Hoff goofiness :O
I thought it would be cool to repurpose some old vacuum tubes to jazz up a project. The base of the tubes I used are made of plastic (Probably bakelite) so I drilled a hole in them and inserted some RGB LED's with an Atmega328 driving them. If you fool with tubes just be careful because they are made of glass which could be dangerous.
During the drilling of one of the tubes the drill bit "grabbed" and broke the tube under the plastic but within 1 day the silver material coating the inside of the tube turned to dust and it didn't look very nice. So if you're considering making a hole in the glass part of the tube to insert an LED I wouldn't bother because it didn't work out well.

The base is just something 3D printed but most anything could be used.
I figured I'd share this because I think it would look AWESOME on a retro robot head or something \o/
