Hi there,
I've been wanting to work on this project for a very long time now but haven't been able to find much online. I want to add some color footwell lighting in my car. Most project I find is a complete wire addon which is great but I would like to use the current bulb and solder to the existing leads.
I trying finding info regarding bulb to led conversion but most material is for exterior lighting(head lights, etc) or for homes. Out of frustrating I decided to ask the experts. Hi LMR.
The little bulb the car use is a 5w bulb and the power sourse is 12v. I know it's not as stright forward swap cause the LED has differnet resistance compare to a bulb...
What I'm having trouble is making the current draw same as the bulb. I know blue LED uses 3-4v so 3-4 LED in sereis would work but than the resistance of it is really low compare to a bulb... So do I need to add some resistors or parallel sereis a few LED together?.... I'm so confused... Any help is greatly appreciated.
