Cheap autonomous quadcopter? Can an arduino control a hobbyking quadcopter control board (kkmulticontroller copy)?

Hi LMR,

I was thinking of having an arduino controlling the hobbyking controller making an autonomous quadcopter!!!

The plan is to place an arduino between the receiver and the control board. In manual mode the arduino board is listening to the receiver commands and passes them to the control board. In autonomous mode the arduino board ignores the commands from the receiver and sends its own commands, depending on the skech and the inputs from the sensors (gps, distance sensors...) through the  AIL,THR,RUD,ELE pins of the control.

Will this work?

I'm thinking of doing this because my programming level is very low and I cannot afford buying an ardupilot!!!!

So what do you think?

If this will work?

Probably in the hands of someone with a good knowledge of electronics and fluid in programming the Arduino. So I think you might have answered you own question with this statement “I’m thinking of doing this because my programming level is very low and I cannot afford buying an ardupilot”
No. I don’t think this is for you.(sorry, but I’m only trying to save you time and money)

Why don’t you look around for some cheaper ardupilots or take the time to save up?
