I'm trying to make night vision. So I have this CMOS module and it has 1 line for video output. Then, I have a salvaged LCD screen from my dead ipod. I found this website for all the connections. So this LCD has all these separate connections for blue, green, and red. So I as wandering how I would hook up this one cable to 15 inputs in the LCD screen.
You need a microcontroller
You need a microcontroller or something in between that can read PAL/NTSC analog video, convert the data, and then send it out via the parallel data bus. You’ll probably want a pretty speedy processor for this.
Darn it
I thought it would be much easier to hook up a camera to a LCD. Is there anything that can teach you how to program this kind of stuff. I use the PICAXE as the controller.
I’d genuinely love for
I’d genuinely love for someone to prove me wrong on this one, but I strongly suspect that this is impossible to acheive with a single PICAXE.
One of the main issues here is that the camera and display are talking completely different languages, maybe you should look into some alternatives on one (or both) ends.
Is there anything I could
Is there anything I could buy or a different microcontroller that could do this?
Too many options to list on
Too many options to list on both counts I’m afraid, take a look around, see what things appeal to you.
rca input
Since your camera has an RCA output, the difficulty is that your LCD display you are trying to use does not have a way to hook that analog signal up to it directly. The ipod display has a digital interface which is not compatible with the analog output from the camera.
If it has an RCA output,
If it has an RCA output, does that mean we can hook it up to a mini TV with RCA cables?
Yes, that should hook up
Yes, that should hook up easily. You would just need to cut one end off a RCA cable to wire it to the camera. You can find more details under the “Comments” section of the sparkfun page for your camera.

how do I hook up a camera to
how do I hook up a camera to a lcd screen, no circut involved.
