We have a sit-stand desk that has a broken wire connector.
This is a 12 foot long 4 pin Male to 4 pin male gpu pci-e power cable. It connects from a socket by the motor at one end of the L shaped table to the motor on the other end of the table.
I’ve been looking around for a replacement but have had no luck. The organization we work for is rather bureaucratic, and so my suggestion of simply buying any cable with a 4 pin male pci-e connector, cutting it off and soldering the 4 wires to the damaged end of our existing 12 foot cable was met with a flat out no. It must be a purchased cable.
The “kit” that was used to motorize the table has little identification on it.

I haven’t had much luck searching for those terms.
So I thought I’d go the route of a custom cable from an electrical connecting device company. Can anyone recommend where I can have such a cable made?
Can’t anyone on a robot forum point to a company that can make a custom power cable?
@Fuzzball Welcome to the RobotShop Community. Aside from suggesting a normal “custom cable manufacturer” search on Google, we don’t have any specific suggestions since you’re not doing high volume, there’s a good chance custom manufacturers won’t be interested in the setup time alone will eat their profit (even from China). Your most cost effective route might be to replace the assembly (actuator and cable) even if that might be a few hundred dollars.
Hello. I’m a new member with a necro-post response that could help a future user with the same cable need.
I needed to source the same 4-pin male to 4-pin male connector cable for a colleague’s adjustable desk’s VL2 series motors. Most companies are using 6-pin cables, so the search required some persistence. Digikey seems to have a suitable part for around $15.

Thanks for the response. That was a surprise to see it pop up. I’m still with the same organization, but I think the desk is long gone. Hopefully if someone in the future is looking for something similar they will find it in your post.
