Build Your Own Underwater ROV For $250 | RobotShop Community

Do ye ship to Ireland

Is there any way to get a longer tether? I’d like to explore a shipwreck, the Andrea Doria, at about 200-250 feet

may i know where u get the motors and its propeller for your ROV.
im doing the same project right now but have problems with finding the motors which water proof and a good propeller that can mounted on the particular motors.

how can i buy ROV kit from you?can you give your details to easier for me to contact you

Phil,
The kit comes with 50 feet of cabling. As you increase that length you will start to experience significant voltage drops through the wiring. It’s hard to say how deep the seals will go.

how deep can this ROV go

wherecan i find software for controlling an underwater robot?

Looking for a deep water rov that works ?

check out the web www.interspec.org

80m tested, several designs… full software control via laptop

Where do we buy the robot kit? How long for delivery?

What type of camera? and how deep can it go?

Unfortunately we do not carry that product, and the camera’s specifications do not seem to be provided on their website. As for the depth rating, it’s for normal swimming pools, so around 4m.

ahh ok thanks

I’ve built an ROV using DPDT relays and would like to change to direct servo control. Do you sell any RC transmitter/receivers capable of sending DSC over a Cat5? Preferably over 2 wires. If not can you make a suggestion. Thank you

@Dave We have a transmitter / receiver pair which uses CAT6:

Was curious if they operate in mild to strong tidal current…thanks!

@William There is very little cross-section to this ROV aside from the floats. It all comes down to the force of the motors used, as well as the “propellers”. Based on what we have seen though, it’s not the fastest ROV and likely won’t work too well against a strong current.

can u say the specifications of motors available in this kit

@susmitha This is not sold not supported by RobotShop; it’s best to refer to the supplier’s page for details.

Can we use an iphone instead of a monitor to proyect the visuals?

@yamila Unfortunately not. You would have to create a custom setup.
