Basic Micro ARC-32 boards

I was wondering how the ARC32 boards are coming along?

Still on schedule. Working on documentation and have sent out a few more samples for testing and feedback. Won’t be too much longer till they are available.

Zenta and/or Xan,

Could you please send/post to me your most up to date version of the phoenix code that you have running on the Arc32? I am hoping my Arc32 board will arrive and the rest of my phoenix parts should arrive today  May take me awhile before I have everything working, but will be fun! Also if you have any great sequences for the phoenix, that would be a lot of fun to try as well. (May have to build a sequence emulator for the Arc32)

Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Currently I’m “only” using the BAP28 and SSC32 on my Phoenix. I’m planning to use my ARC-32 on a different project. I believe the only working phoenix code for the ARC-32 is the code Nathan posted a little while ago. I’ve not tested it because I don’t have a working PS2 controller and I don’t have the “mind” to convert your XBee code to the ARC-32 either

A sequence emulator for ARC-32 would be awesome! Also a SSC-32 emulator on the ARC-32 would be interesting too, especially combined with the Visual Sequencer software.

Good luck with building your phoenix project.

Btw, In what format do you want the sequnces? .csv?

Yeah, everything arrived!!! (At least I hope I have everything to build the phoenix…

Also the Arc32 finally arrived.

My main problem now is that we are having very nice spring weather and I need to spend most of my time setting up the garden! :frowning: I am now in the process of building new planters for the greenhouse, replacing the soil that we put in the earlier planters with some new soil that has more compost in it…

But over the next week or so I will hopefully have time to build it and start testing out the Arc32 version.

Zenta - You really need to get a new PS2 controller!!! I ordered 2 receivers. I will work on porting it over to run on both the PS2 and XBEE (so you could try it out if you wanted to

Well back to garden!
Kurt

Cool, congratz! So now got you that little christmas feeling again…

Thats so typical, you’ve got the parts but not the time…
My wife would love to do work like that, unfortunately we still have alot of snow in our garden.

Yeah I know i should get a new PS2 controller. I’m looking forward to see what you’ll come out with of code for the ARC-32. Especially XBee + ARC-32 would be fun!
Btw, Yesterday I mounted a XBee module onto T-Hex and it worked very good, it was fun to switch between the two robots so easily.

Good luck with your garden!

Last night I received a WIP datasheet from Dale at Basic Micro, for the Arc32. The document may need a few minor tweeks, but it is mostly there!

I was given the green light to post it, so I did up on the Basic Micro Forum: forums.basicmicro.net/viewtopic. … 99ad51e22b

Thanks for posting Kurt!
That helps alot for knowing the complete pin config ++.

FYI - The basic Micro website now shows these boards available (basicmicro.com/ARC32_p_141.html) It also has the link to the current documentation.

Jim also has a P.O. in with us and we’ll be shipping quantities very soon.

Wow! :open_mouth: Nice!

Is there any ETA when the ARC32 boards will arrive? If not in June, I’ll order other stuff.

I’m told the resistor swap should be done this week and I will have the boards back soon after that.

I hope so! I am ready to order as soon as I see they are available.

Shhhhh, don’t tell Mike…

This shiny Arc32 board is making me rethink what controller I want to use on my robots. It’s got me thinking about putting one on WALTER now. I’m looking forward to getting an Arc32 and playing with it.

I wish there were an Atmega1280 based Arduino Mega compatible board laid out like this - it would be another rockin’ controller.

WHAT!
