American author, inventor, Google’s director of engineering and forward-looking prognosticator Ray Kurzweil once wrote, “We won’t experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century - it will be more like 20,000 years of progress (at today’s rate).” If he’s correct, then the revolution in robotics that’s just beginning to pick up steam is likely to transform the world as we know it in very short order.
