A robotic arm for 3D priting with Dual extruder

Hi, i want a robotic arm for 3d printing- ABB GoFa™ CRB 15000 is something good but its extremely expensive. The next option was UFACTORY xArm 6 but the company is not supportive on accessoires for fitting/mounting the 3d printing unit. I have 3 questions-
1- Is there an alterative or way i which i can mount a printer to the ufactory arm?
2- Are there dual extrusion modules that can be mounted on a robotic arm?
3- For economical reason is it possible assembled one?

Any comment on way foward would be fantastic!

Hi @Fam and welcome to our forum!

I saw some applications with large scale 3d printers, but I haven’t seen any hobbyist or low-grade commercial printers with an arm.

I think the accuracy issues with an arm compared to a gantry makes it impractical until the future where we have much cheaper high-precision motors.

Also, 4axis/5axis is doable on an arm, but it is still much cheaper and easier to implement it on a gantry.

Why do you need to use robotic arm? Is it because of the dimensions of the product you want to print?

thankyou for the comment igor. the 6 axis arm exisit today- this means we can do better angular or cantilievered prints- it has better control - the same arm can do cnc as well as laser works. flexibilty and accuracy is to .02mm. however the most prevelent product is from ABB. There are other companies developing the arm with pretty much the same accuracy - but there is a gap in the integration of the printer/extruder module to the arm. So i want to check if there is anything i have missed?

@Fam you are welcome. I guess that’s it. Maybe you can share some links to this ABB arm and others that you found?
