2 DOF (with common axis)

Thanks!

Hey Zenta, I have drawn the ASB04A and ASB24A parts and have sent them off for a quote. When received I will order them right away. I will get the 2-56 spacer going next. We should have a nice common axis 2DOF hip/ankle very soon!

Any other new bracket ideas let me know. We are making room for them.

Sounds great Jim!
Looking forward to it.

Have you ever considered an extra long C-bracket? I’m not sure at the moment exactly how much longer than the ASB-10 it should be, and maybe it need some sort of reinforcement too? I’m just thinking in combination with the 2 DOF joint that the extra long bracket would be useful. Just a thought.

I personally can’t wait to see what you two came up with, I can use a couple of those same-axis scheme right now… My Phoenix (or what was a Phoenix) is going through a MAJOR tear down and modification (mechanically), there’s many places that I wished I had same-axis 2DOF…

Thousands upon thousands of words approaching…

It works perfectly! We will need to make a new foot with extra mounting holes. These new parts will make lots of new assemblies possible.

 …great work. YES!

Perfect! 8)
I like how you solved the extra hole on the bottom of ASB-24I bracket.
Any ETA on when you’ll get the black anodized brackets?

I’m really looking forward to play with them!

It’s not going to be much longer. I will approve these samples and the rest will follow in a week or two.

Can you expand on the wider “C” bracket idea? I’m not able to visualize how it would be useful.

Sounds good!

Oh, I didn’t mean wider. Longer length. Like if you want to make longer leg segments. I just thought that an extra long C-bracket would allow more freedom combined with the 2 DOF joint. If you look at the long C-bracket for the ankle pitch you’ll see that a longer bracket would allow some longer leg-segment (tibia) and also some more range of travel. But then again, its not necessary to make a working biped though. Just a suggestion.

Any comment from other members about this would be appreciated.

Ah, now that I can visualize. Might take a stab at it, but I have some more interesting things in mind first. 8)

I bet you have! Now you got me wondering if it is SES or electronic board related…

Both! lol 8)
