12 servo power supply

i am building this hexapod : https://www.robotshop.com/letsmakerobots/node/29821 , and i have few question about the power supply.For testing the servos i was using 4 AA but now with 12 servo i want to use bigger capacity battery for example a lipo.Can i run the servo directly from it or i need to regulate down to 6v?

There are 2 way s to regulate a LiPo to 6V. Either use a switching power supply like this one: http://www.dimensionengineering.com/DE-SWADJ3.htm
