iRobot Roomba 980 Now Available at RobotShop

We are happy to announce that the iRobot Roomba 980 robot vacuum is now available for purchase on our website. The Roomba 980 comes with great new features such as a new navigation method; the iAdapt 2.0 Navigation makes it the best Roomba on the market as of yet. Same design, round shape at 13.8 inches of diameter and 3.6 inches of height it is a little heavier than previous models because of the additional hardware. So if most of your furniture sits at over 4 inches from the floor the Roomba 980 will clean under them without issues.   With the new iAdapt 2.0 Navigation the Roomba gets improved smarts and will go out to clean methodically thanks to the new camera pointing the ceiling and a ground sensor to map where it has already passed. Finally, a Roomba going in straight lines and not in a "random" pattern. It will also not bump into things as much since it now maps the area it cleans. This one guarantees it will vacuum all of your floors and if it can't finish the job it will go charge and pick up from where it left off. The carpet boost is also a new major feature since many robots out there seem not to know what to do on a carpet; mostly high pile carpets. The Roomba 980 will recognize the carpet and boost the vacuum motor to get up to 10x the air force, so all that dust and hair hidden in the carpet will go into the robot's dust bin. The brushes are the same as the 880 and are not typical bristle and rubber blade brushes they are all rubber and are called AeroForce Extractors. Both brushes roll inwards catching all hair, dust and debris and send it right into the dust bin. The Robot also has a Wi-Fi feature so it lets you connect to it from a distance to start a cleaning, schedule cleaning cycles and to let you see the status of cleaning cycles.
