Hanako the guinea-pig robot for dentists

Hanako Dental guinea-pig robot Rather than resorting to human guinea-pigs to practice the dental profession, Japan has decided to create its own guinea-pig robot, always ready to be operated on in the mouth. Hanako the female robotic patient can salivate, have a runny nose, move her eyes and express pain by speaking. She opens her mouth naturally and her tongue is also mobile. The prototype has been developed by Showa University in Tokyo with the help of a pioneer in humanoid robotics, Atsuo Takanishi, a professor at Waseda University. A hundred or so Japanese students should have tested it already. Hanako's price has not been divulged (voluntarily, it's kept secret). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am_38QkUQCE
