CTS Robosoft in France has created a completely autonomous robotic car capable of transporting visitors without a driver while avoiding obstacles. The CTS, for Cybernetic Transport System, uses a hybrid GPS navigation system to make its way around and anti-collision detectors so as not to run into people on the path, for example. It automatically slows down and stops when approaching obstacles. The CTS also has an emergency stop button just in case. The mini electric automobile can move along pre-registered paths with precision to the nearest centimeter. This project by Robosoft, which also created Kompai, has been developed with the help of partners like M3S, LCPC, SkyLAB and Cité de l'Espace and has been partially financed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment (DGCIS) in France. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiVNwsvMrvA via rbl and rbs
