CC Logistics - WhatsNext Arduino Compatible Lineup

WhatsNext - 05 People have been missing the Arduino.org for quite some time. These were among the best Arduino compatible boards available on the market and they were a beloved best-seller at RobotShop. Fortunately, the wait is over now. CC Logistics, the new name of the company, just released a new lineup of products called What's Next?. Behind the colorful names and packaging hide some excellent products which are aiming at the future. We just received the first batch of boards and we're excited to share with you today their specs and details - all of these are available right now at RobotShop.

What's Next : Orange

 Orange - 01 Orange - 02 Orange - 03 Orange - 04
Microcontroller board based on the Atmel SAM3X8E ARM Cortex® -M3 CPU. Unleash the power of a 32-bit microcontroller, ready for your complex projects. It works at 3.3V, has 54 digital input/output pins (up to 12 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 12 as analog inputs), a 84MHz clock, a USB OTG capable connection, 2 DAC (digital to analog converters), TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, a power jack, a reset button, an erase button, and a JTAG interface for direct programming and debugging. Fully Arduino® compatible. Arduino IDE: Arduino Due

What's Next : Purple

Purple - 01 Purple - 02 Purple - 03 Purple - 04 - V2
Microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. With its tiny form factor, breadboard compatibility, and plenty of I/Os, this is the board to squeeze into your smallest projects. It has 22 digital input/output pins (up to 6 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 8 as analog inputs), a 16MHz clock, a mini USB connection, TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, an ICSP header and a reset button. Thanks to the integrated DC/DC converter, it can be powered from a 7~12V source. It has more analog and digital pins than the Yellow board and is the perfect solution when you need to shrink down your project. Fully Arduino® compatible. Arduino IDE: Arduino Nano

What's Next : Pink

Pink - 01 Pink - 02 Pink - 03 Pink - 04
Microcontroller board based on the ATmega32u4. With its small form factor, it's the ideal companion for your breadboard based projects. It has 20 digital input/output pins (up to 7 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 12 as analog inputs), a 16MHz clock, a micro USB connection (which supports HID and CDC), TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, an ICSP header, and a reset button. Fully Arduino® compatible. Arduino IDE: Arduino Micro

What's Next : Turquoise

Turquoise - 01 Turquoise - 02 Turquoise - 03 Turquoise - 04
Board based on the Atheros AR9331 and the ATmega32u4 MCU. It unleashes the power of a small computer running Linux, connected to an 8-bit microcontroller plus Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Qualcomm Atheros CPU runs at up to 400MHz supporting a Linux distribution based on OpenWRT named Linino OS and an ATmega32u4 MCU for GPIO control. The board has built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi support, a USB-A port, micro-SD card slot, 20 digital input/output pins (up to 7 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 12 as analog inputs), a 16MHz clock, a micro USB connection, TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, an ICSP header, two reset buttons, and one WLAN/USER button. The turquoise board is a powerful networking computer. In addition to Linux commands like the cURL, you can write your own shell and python scripts for robust interactions. Fully Arduino® compatible. Arduino IDE: Arduino Yún

What's Next : Violet

Violet
Board based on Atheros AR9342 CPU and Microchip SAMD21 Cortex®-M0+ MCU. It features dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 EDR/LE, and Ethernet, extending the capabilities of a small computer running Linux paired with a 32-bit MCU. The Qualcomm Atheros AR9342 is a highly integrated MIPS CPU running at up to 533MHz. It features IEEE802.11n 2x2 2.4/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi module and 4.0 Bluetooth EDR/LE and is paired with Microchip SAMD21 MCU running at up to 48MHz, based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex® M0+ core. The board supports a Linux distribution, based on OpenWRT named Linino OS. It has also a built-in 4GB eMMC memory that will be helpful to make your project. The MCU Linux Port can be switched off in order to reduce the power consumption. The board also has 20 digital input/output pins (up to 12 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 12 as analog inputs), USB device and host interfaces, Ethernet interface, TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, an ICSP, and a SWD header and three buttons (MCU reset, OS reset, WLAN reset). Fully Arduino® compatible.

What's Next : Blue

Blue
Board based on Atheros AR9331 CPU and ATmega 32u4 MCU. It is a smaller version of the turquoise board with a breadboard-friendly form factor. The Qualcomm Atheros CPU runs at up to 400MHz supporting a Linux distribution based on OpenWRT named Linino OS and an ATmega32u4 MCU for GPIO control. The board has built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n up to 150Mbps 1x1 2.4GHz), it has 20 digital input/output pins (up to 7 can be used as PWM outputs and up to 12 as analog inputs), a 16MHz clock, a micro USB connector, TWI, SPI, UART interfaces, an ICSP header, two reset buttons, and one user button. Fully Arduino® compatible.
It's nice to see a major player in the industry trying to provide high-quality boards but keeping the price low. This lineup is solid and will provide hours of programming fun to anyone in the DIY (Do It Yourself) world.
