Bina48, Like A.L.I.C.E. With a Wig

New York times reporter Amy Harmon has recently interviewed Bina48 a humanoid robotic bust that can have human-like conversation with other humans. Chat robots have been around for a while and started with the famous A.L.I.C.E. In the past, people could chat with these robots though a text interface and have long (and mostly meaningless) conversations. Bina48 takes these conversations to the next level by introducing speech recognition, speech synthesis, head tracking and face recognition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvcQCJpZJH8 This robots also copies the appearance of a real human,  Bina Rothblatt, and purportedly has its memories and personality.
