MEC (Manufacturing Engineering Centre) (University of Cardiff in the United Kingdom) is developing a semi-autonomous domestic robot able to help senior citizens with their daily tasks. The 3 million euro project is also aimed at creating a robot able to provide healthcare and assistance for people with impaired mobility. A consortium of ten partners from various European countries (United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Germany) are involved in this project. At the end, when there is a finished prototype, Hewlett-Packard and its partners want to market it on a vast scale. For more information visit Siva.it Robot SRS via
