Introduction

I am a humanoid robot builder. Simone is the latest in a long line of life-size humanoid robots that I have built over the years. (Although I love Simone Giertz's work, no, my Simone has nothing to do with her.)  This was built without a 3D printer using mostly off the shelf parts. A lot of hacking went into it.

Simone the A.I. Fembot

Simone is built on the EZ-Robot/ARC platform. EZ-Robot (EZ-Bv4) is a Wi-Fi-enabled, duel 32-bit 120 MHz ARM Cortex-M3 and 80 MHz Microchip PIC32 processor board with 24 digital I/O ports and 8 analog ports. It runs on 4.5 to 16 volts. The EZ-Bv4 works in tandem with ARC, a Windows-based GUI-based software framework that will make easy work of giving control of her body, sensors, and a sharp AI mind to boot. ARC is programmed in a BASIC-like scripting language called EZ Script as mentioned above.
