Robot Hand Shadow
Hello everyone so this is the project I made with my PCB's.
this whole thing is actually intended for my club jameco entry http://www.clubjameco.com/index.php/projects/project_brief/24/21110/_diy_robotic_hand_shadow
I'm pretty happy about how it turned out, it was my first PCB and surprise ! it worked,
so I wasn't able to get a video since my brother dropped the camcorder and it doesn't work unless you press on the power button the whole time.(got the worst finger cramp imaginable just for 1 picture) :D. The glove has flex sensors on each finger and the hand has 5 servo's. The bad thing about the hand is that the fingers are made of some type of pipe which is used to hold wire and it sucks compared to the machining on this hand. The pipe gets stuck because of the wrinkles and it brings down the cool factor of the whole thing.
sorry about the picture took it with my Ipod (camera broke remember :D )
Here is my soldered PCB
the thin wires are from the glove.
And here is the Hand.
This is the only picture from the camera ;( see what I mean about the fingers being bad.
So that's it if you want to see this as a kit vote here http://www.clubjameco.com/index.php/projects/project_brief/24/21110/_diy_robotic_hand_shadow. The kit if accepted will have the flex sensors. PCB, components, and servo's (glove needs to be supplied by customers and hand has to be made by the customer and that's pretty easy you can use this instructable) . Keep in mind that it is hackable you can reprogram it if you have an arduino you connect the reset from the arduino to the pin labeled reset on the PCB and rx --> tx and tx --> rx. So it would be cool if you guys could vote for it. Oh yeah and if anyone wants to buy a PCB contact me.
I would be grateful for some comments suggesting any improvements.
