Introduction

Automated a toy manual fan with servo and Arduino Uno. Just another useless machine.

Controlling toy fan with servo

Decided to build another useless machine by automating a toy fan given to us at a Hot Pot restaurant because we told them it was too hot in the restaurant. Used Arduino Uno to control and power a standard size servo to keep pressing the fan button that causes the fan to spin around.

Update: just discovered if I had placed the servo in front of the fan, the arm would press the fan button in such a way as to alway make contact with gears and never miss executing a working fan motion. As it currently is, by pressing forward on the button, it internally misses engaging the gears occassionally.
