Introduction

I have been a robot owner for over 40 years, always dreaming of the day my robot could "live" an independent, continuous life.

My latest robot, Carl, is progress on that dream.

Major Design Principles:

1) Self Awareness

2) "Staying Alive" 24/7

3) Efficient use of processor, sensors, and power

My latest robot effort, Carl,  "came to life" on 20 August 2018.

The bot hardware consists of:

- 8 inch Minion Carl silicone figure

- Raspberry Pi 3B processor (4 core 1.2GHz 1GB)

- Dexter Industries / ModRobotics GoPiGo3 robot platform

- Added Sensors: PiCamera, ToF Distance, Microphone, BNO055 IMU

- Added Effectors: MonkMakes Speaker, TiltPan Mini Servos

- iRobot Dock and Docking Contacts

- 8x NiMH AA-Cells

The bot software consists of:

- Python Examples for TensorFlowLite, OpenCV, Speech Interfaces, Chatbots, Knowledge and Reasoning, Braitenburg Vehicles

- Robot Carl Python Operational Code and System Tests( abt. 16k lines)

- Raspbian For Robots Operating System (Based on Raspbian Buster)
