Robots that clean beaches in Japan

Posted on 22/06/2010 by vabry
July 19, 2010, is a holiday in Japan (Marine Day which takes place on the 3rd Monday in July) and for the occasion this year a competition of cleaning robots on the beach (the 13th event focused on robotics) has been organized. What a great environmentally-friendly idea! The event is centered on the 3 Rs: Reduce pollution, Reuse and Recycle. There are two guidelines on the agenda: 1. to create marine rescue robots, 2. to develop robots that pick up litter on the beaches. beach-robot via robots-dreams
