Robots in a Scottish hospital

Forth Valley Robot A hospital in Scotland will be the first in the United Kingdom to be equipped with robots for staff. They will not carry out medical tasks but rather hospital staff chores. The Forth Valley Royal Hospital will welcome these new robotic employees who will carry food to rooms, be able to dispense drugs, carry clinical waste and undertake certain cleaning and domestic operations. This will also prevent infections spreading to cleaning staff. The robots will be able to get their bearings by themselves in the hospital thanks to laser guidance. They will also be able to tell doors to open and take the elevator by themselves, as well as stop in case of an emergency using their anti-collision sensors. More info and a video on the BBC site.
