MIT's Flyfire: miniature robots create a 3D mobile screen in space

FlyFire Helicopter robots MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) recently introduced the FlyFire project. An image in space is created using miniature robot helicopters with multicolored LEDs. These helicopters move anywhere in 3D space, then hover in mid-air to create the image of your choice. Flyfire could involve hundreds or thousands of mini-helicopters to carry out complex artistic images. One possible application is a portable 3D computer screen that can pop in front of your eyes anywhere. Imagine your screen in 3D with these tiny light-robots... That would be something else, wouldn't it? More information at: Senseable MIT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnEN9B18v6Q
