The Japanese
JO-Zero robot was introduced late in 2009 at the
International Robots Exhibition.
With
twenty degrees of freedom (different movements), including ten in the legs, eight in the arms, and two in size, this mini-robot
moves almost like a human.
In the future, when a larger version is built, it will be used to
rescue victims during natural disasters.
The robot's head was designed by Manga
artist Minoru Kamiya.
Jo-Zero is controlled remotely. It can stand up by itself, write, communicate with a similar robot, pass underneath or over an obstacle, all in a style that would turn gymnasts green with envy (see video).
Its current price is US $ 1350.
