The manual is not clear on what “Lock” does.
Besides acting as a “go to” what else does it do?
Thanks, Harry

it locks that sequence in, so you cant play with nuthin i think
The lock checkbox, is locking the ‘goto’ button down, so, while browsing steps, it ‘go to’ automatically to the step you call.
if you try to jump from a step to a non adjacent one (the previous or the next), the lock button is unchecked and the goto button is released, to prevent going from a too different step to another one
Thanks Laurent, that clears it up. Harry
My 16 y/o son has become very Sequencer savvy. He uses the lock function a lot. You basically lock the robot to follow the displayed step. He then steps forward and back, making sure the movements are perfect. If a change is needed he makes the change and overwrites the step, then back then forward to verify it’s working properly. In other words the Lock is a good tool for building perfect sequences. It doesn’t do anything else.
BTW we are adding two new videos to the website of Biped Pete getting up from it’s front and back. James did them this morning.

Thanks Jim,
After Laurent’s reply I started using it correctly and found it to be a very nice tool for steping back and forth to develop routines. I’ve got a kick-ass yoga routine and have taught BRAT how to walk backwards.
Cheers, Harry
Jim, you have any idea what kind of pain and suffering you’re causing me? That video is fantastic! I want to build one right now… but can’t!
Funny, no matter how many times I click on the words in your post, I can’t find any video links!
And I’ve looked everywhere for that “Attach video” button but it still eludes me.
You can also upload to YouTube or Putfile (I think thats the name) and save Jim some bandwidth/transfer
Wow, backwards?!
I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that…
That opens up a bunch on new ideas, too…
I’m definitely going to have to get my biped to do the moonwalk!
Nick, you’re breaking my heart!
I desperately tried to do a version of the moonwalk with BRAT but think it’s impossible with just 3 DOF. I suspect 4 would do it. Or maybe some of the genius’ at Lynxmotion can take a stab at it.
It has to be done!
Harry
