VTail Camera Mounting Plate?

Is there any chance of one of these being made soon? I know I can borrow a friend’s GoPro, but I wouldn’t want to do something like that without a relatively high-assurance way to affix it to the VTail.

We could look at making a plate available.
Do you have a need for a fixed plate or something dampened ?

My quadcopter is mostly for playing around, so “need” is a very relative term. (I have expensive hobbies, apparently.) Something simple would probably be more than good enough for playing around with. I would probably play with a GoPro just recording in the short term, and might or might not get an FPV setup at some point.

I saw the HQuad item posted today, which highlights having a camera plate (and mentions options in terms of a gimbal system and whatever else) which reminded me to ask about this again, now that my VTail actually flies.

We did start an idea, and you can see a front plate here.
This would mean a new top plate with mountings for FPV gears etc…

That looks basically like what I’m looking for. I have a 500, not sure if the size is different at that part.

the center plates on the 400 and 500 are the same so everything is compatible.

Well, if you build it, I’ll buy it.

We will take a look at finishing and releasing such a system.
Would you be more interested in the front mounting plate addition or something which replaces the top plate?

Probably the front. The existing top plate, which I’m not actually using currently at the moment, you can still hook stuff to if needbe. The front mounting is a straightforward additional space to assemble things, and it gives you a better position to mount a camera. In my case, being I want to put an actual GoPro on it, the front plate also offers a clear manner of how a GoPro can be securely mounted.

We will focus on getting this done in near future.
Thanks for the input.
