So Im building the SHR (2nd time with my little bro) and Im having trouble. The picaxe powers up, downloads the servo test program but it wont move. Plenty of power, the solder seems good but not sure. give me any thoughts or things to diagnose the problem, thank you!!!

It happened to me in the past too. I plugged it in reverse. Big mistake, burned 5 pins on the OOPIC-R micro. Other time I plugged it in the wrong pin, I was like why it doesn’t move? Then another time I had the wrong frequency board set up and all timings were off. And of course, there was this time when I got too little juice in the battery and the servo just didn’t move at all, just jerked a bit and that was it. Oh I also had 12 servos trying to move at once, plenty of power in the battery but just a thin wire connecting the battery to the board, not enough current for so many servos could pass through the wire. Sometimes you can have trouble on the breadboard because of faulty contacts. So yeah, lots of things to check.
per the shoutbox…
Right, I never used a picaxe
Right, I never used a picaxe board, I couldn’t have thought about that… Glad it was solved so quickly.
turns out…
Chris was right! As soon as I plugged in the resistor it fired right up.
