I have been using the RPLIDAR sensor for awhile now and all of a sudden the band snapped off. What is the size of this o-ring? http://imgur.com/a/OPswL (imgur.com/a/OPswL). I was thinking maybe close to 75mm but i’m not sure. I was also looking at o-ring sets online but they really don’t exceed 50mm. Thanks!
Hi,
We just measured it and it seems to be ~72 mm diameter when not stretched / at rest.
While we do not officially sell this part, if you wish, we can probably sell you one of them that we have in stock from replacement parts/samples. If you are interested in this, please open a support ticket here and in your message mention this topic for context.
Sincerely,
Thank you. I just submitted a ticket and hopefully it’s not too expensive.
Hi,
Your ticket will be reviewed and you should receive a response within 3 hours.
Concerning the cost, we are most likely talking a few USD a most. The shipping will most likely be more expensive (unless you bundle up that order with other things to get free shipping).
Sincerely,
Would you possibly know the thickness of the ring? I have one that’s about 74mm at rest but cant move the sensor. This design is kind of odd as well… Is this why the product has been discontinued? Or simply the new model replaced it’s place?
Hi,
The thickness seems to be roughly 1.45 mm. The size and sketchiness of the material are probably important to produce the right amount of friction.
The RB-Rpk-01 has a few issues, including motor longevity issues, so it was indeed discontinued once the newer (and much improved) RB-Rpk-02 became available.
That being said, we now also have the RB-Rpk-03, which is kind of a “version 2” of the RB-Rpk-01, but with the major issues fixed.
There is also the RB-Rpk-05, which is the same as RB-Rpk-02, but with 16 meter range!
