Roomba 500 side brush module

I bought a Roomba 560 from you late September or early October and it has worked just fine. However, now I find that the side brush screw no longer will stay in. The shaft that holds the brush seems to have the threads that hold the screw stripped out so that it can no longer hold the screw in. The brush seems to be in properly, when pushed down on the shaft, but the screw can no longer keep the top of the shaft spread so that it can keep the brush in place.

Is there a fix for this? (new side brush module, for instance).

It is possible that the side brush has not been properly “snapped” into place. The side brush on the Roombas from the 500 series are not like the ones on the Discovery series.

Before screwing the side brush in place, you should push down on it until you hear a “snap”. The side brush screw is not used to hold the side brush on but, to keep the snap function of the plastic from flexing. The screw is not even needed for it to function. It is therefore, a good idea not to fully tighten the side brush screw. This will prevent the threads from stripping.

Please try “snapping” your side brush into place. If this does not function, we will arrange for an exchange under warranty.
