Robot control using Bluetooth on mobile phones?

Hi, I just wanted to ask if it was possible to buy some kind of Bluetooth receiver that you could connect to a Bot Board II or something like that and then use your phone as the controller? (I’m assuming that you’ll need to design some kind of application that you run on your mobile so that it can be used as a controller).

Thank You!

They might be doing that on an Android phone, check Google.

This is pretty cool:

and this video is pretty good as well:

but it only works for their robots and the LEGO Mindstorms Kit.

You might have read this thread, if not well here it is. Bluetooth controlled custom hexapod with an iPod app

Pretty sweet, huh

Aytum

That is pretty awesome!

I’d like to hear more about any iPod app!

This should hopefully be helpful - some guys at Keio University in Tokyo did this as a project. The video is something to definitely check out:

Enjoy!

That’s quite clever! Thanks for the URL!

No problem!

Great video.
I am amazed at what can be done these days
Thanks for sharing

Happy to help!

A while back I used my android powered phone with a BlueSmirf receiver to control an SSC-32. It was a proof of concept for me but I never went anywhere with it. So yes, if you have an android, and are willing to learn a bit of java, you can control any robot via a simple Serial line. It’s some pretty cool stuff.
