Hi!
Jim (or anyone) is there a shop in the UK that sells the RIOS software. The closest i can get is Active Robots, and they only sell the SEQ. I really want the RIOS for my arm that i’m making. Does anyone know if there is a “downloadable” copy for the price? or something etc. I havn’t got a Mastercard or a Visa, i can use solo or PayPal. Anyone???

I don’t think that you can get a downloadable copy, because the program is key-protected (you have to put in a pin number when you first install it from the CD).
I wouldn’t know, though.
Is there a reason that you can’t get RIOS shipped to you from Illinois?
I’m pretty sure that Jim ships internationally, and I doubt that a single CD would be that expensive to ship.
That does not really make a lot of sense. If you need a key code to activate it then why would you NOT be able to download it as it is useless without the key code?
Off topic: Many games require key codes to activate AND make you buy a CD for the game in a large part just to feeding the distribution chain. That is ironic as you buy a game (or an OS) and frequently the very first thing you do is download patches to make it work correctly.

i just noticed Total Robots sell a “Lynx 6 Robotic Arm Combo Kit for PC” that comes with RIOS:

Perhaps you could email them and ask if they’ll sell it to you seperately?

Thanks very much to everyone with their comments. I think i’ll do as Dave and Jim suggested. i.e. contact Total Robots for a price and to see if they can ship one with their order.
