remote control lawn mower

I have two wheel chair motors hooked up to a sawtooth 25A with a RC controller, but it reacts to fast for remote mowing. how can I slow it down?

Can you provide a link to the motor controller? Do you mean Sabertooth?
If your remote control is programmable, you can reduce the range. You may also be able to adjust some settings on the motor controller as well.

The motor controller is
Sabertooth Dual 25A Motor Driver
The remote is
Futaba Skysport SS2/SS3 Single Stick…

I was wondering how to slow it down can I program this model of remote?

The Futaba Skysport SS2/SS3 does not seem to be programmable, nor are there any settings on the Sabertooth to vary the speed by much, aside from changing the response from linear to exponential. You really would need different motors / gearing.
Follow the wizard here: dimensionengineering.com/da … /start.htm
You could also try to use smaller wheels for a slower speed.

Ok thanks for checking that was my next approach. I thought there might be some board that could go between the remote servos and the motor controller. I have read something about a device called ardunio but I have never worked with them.

An Arduino is a programmable microcontroller. It can be programmed to read the signals from a remote control and output a different RC signal.

You would need to learn about the electrical wiring and programming. This will depend on where you want to go with the project. The following tutorials should give you some background should you want to get more involved in mobile robotics:
