Realistically feasible weapons

We have many robots in this site, but none of them seem to have weapons. Why? Probably becouse it's hard to design something useful in the small package of our robots.

so, anyone ever tried something? i was considering some kind of shooting gun, either with compressed air or spring loaded. Nothing too powerful, just enought to dissuade cats :)

Maybe instead of a bycicle pump, we could use a motor driven air compressor, like the one used for lego pneumatics:

 

I don't know if it would be powerful enought, anyway..

Or maybe we coult try a spring loaded gun, but i think the mechanic part would be harder to make.. ?

**Ive thought a bit about**<br><p>Ive thought a bit about this because I want a similar thing on my next robot.

Rig up 2 spinning wheels on either side of a simple barrel. When the ammo is pushed through the barrel and contacts the spinning wheels they throw the ammo out the other end. Have a gravity fed ammo clip dropping into the barrel behind the wheels and use a servo to push 1 at a time into the wheels.

The $1 stores around here have toy guns that shoot discs like this, but I want to make my own :slight_smile:
