Quadrature Motor Encoder w/Cable

please i wanted to know if the signal coming out from the {Quadrature Motor Encoder w/Cable} will be a uniform square wave or does it require an external or additional resistance to make it uniform square wave {as we need the output signal for a feedback circuit }.

Also how to connect the encoder to an oscilloscope to test the output signal (as i have 4 wires coming out from the encoder 2 outputs A & B
and 1 ground and 1 5 volt )

and what is the type of this encoder

  1. incremental encoder
  2. optical encoder
  3. magnetic encoder

It’s a good square wave, actually two in quadrature.

5V
A
B
GND

Connect A & B to channels 1 & 2 of 'scope.

The encoder is a standard US Digital encoder, so documentation is available.

please i want the whole specifications and the data sheet of this type of encoder
as there is nothing on the site except the assembly guide
thanks in advance

I may be wrong, but I think these are usdigital encoders. you can get specs off of their website: usdigital.com/products/e8p

I have not looked at mine with a oscilloscope, but have looked at it with logic probes and I produces what looks like a uniform signal…

plz i want an example code so that i can deal with the encoders.
thanks a lot
